Invite-only Debates

An invite-only debate is started by a user who acts as the Organizer. The Organizer creates the debate, shares its identifier with the participants they want to invite, assigns each participant a role in the Lobby, and starts the Preparation stage when the team is ready.

Use this mechanism when you already have a team of debaters and adjudicators lined up. If you don’t, sign up for an Open Debate instead.

The pages below describe each step of the invite-only flow:

1. The Lobby Room — the staging room everyone joins first.
2. Invite your Team — sharing the debate identifier or join link.
3. Assign the Roles — clicking on a badge to set each participant’s role.
4. Starting the Preparation — advancing the Lobby into the Preparation stage.
