The Bell

When you are signed in, a bell icon sits at the top right of every page, next to the person icon. A small badge on the bell counts your unread notifications.

The top bar with the notification bell

Click it to open your notification list — a popover on a wide screen, a drawer on a narrow one. Clicking a notification takes you to whatever it is about and marks it read.

The list refreshes on its own while a page is open, so you do not have to reload to see something new arrive.

What You Get Notified About

Your debate results are ready. Debates with an AI adjudicator are evaluated after the debate ends rather than on the spot. When the evaluation finishes, everyone who took part gets a notification — both in the app and by email — and the debate’s card on the home page fills in with the winner, your score, and your per-criterion ratings.

Until then the card reads Evaluating · results by 14:30. If you are looking at the home page when the results land, the card updates itself.

Debates without an AI adjudicator produce no such notification: the chair enters the scores and the result is final immediately.

Email

Result notifications are sent by email as well as in the app. This is separate from marketing email, which is off unless you turn it on in the Consents section of your profile.
